Paul brought me flowers today - Irises. They’re beautiful and I’ve had a smile on my face ever since. He also surprised me with a little pack of tea from Taylor of Harrowgates. They’re probably the finest tea makers in the world, and he knows they’re my favorite.
Okay, so things are tight. But today things are not so bad.
He had gone into Providence to look for work. It’s pretty bleak around here, especially without a car. We were talking after he got back, and I said ‘we’re stuck’. Paul said, ‘No we’re not stuck. We’re just not seeing the solution. It’s there, we just haven’t thought of it yet.’ Well, yes. And I should try to stay positive. Sometimes it’s difficult to do that.
So I look at my Irises and imagine a time when I’ll have a house with a yard where I can grow Irises myself. And plant Lavender by the front door and around the back patio where I can sit and drink tea in the evenings, and watch the stars slowly appear in the indigo sky.
We’ll get there, as soon as we find the solution to our current problems.
