Spring Has Truly Sprung

As is apparent by the puffy eyes, red face and general itchiness that I am experiencing. I’m a bit grouchy at the moment as a result. I haven’t tried allergy medicine yet although I do have some Tylenol Sinus in the medicine cabinet. I hate taking drugs.
And then there’s the blackflies. I met my first gang of them yesterday on my way to work. They swarm around you like a cloud of malevolent winged poppy seeds endeavoring to get into your nose, eyes and ears. And they bite. Though I was not bitten this time (for which I am thankful) and they’re existence is short (for which I am again thankful), I still made a bit of a spectacle walking down the street waving frantically at the space around my head. From now on when I go out walking I’ll be wearing a hat to keep them out of my hair, and several gallons of bug repellent. Though I’m told that it doesn’t work, it’ll at least make me feel like I’m doing something.
But still, the lovely blue sky and all the trees and flowers blooming madly more than make up for the drawbacks of this season. I may just take a camera outside tomorrow - weather permitting - and take some photos. Maybe I’ll put some air in tires on Paul’s bike and go for a ride. Maybe I’ll try to make friends with the blackflies.
But first I will take some allergy medicine.
