I love to write poetry, but I don’t consider myself a poet. Not with a capital P anyway. I enjoy trying to capture non-verbal sensations I have and make them verbal. A lot of my poetry comes from dreams and meditations.
It’s very hard for me to do this while also being concerned with counting syllables, lines and meters. God forbid I worry about getting things to rhyme. And apparently there are dozens of different styles and schools. Poetry, like life, can be rather complicated. That’s all very well for those who can sit still long enough for that sort of thing. But I’m afraid my Muse has ADD.
I do better with colors, textures and forms. This is probably why my main creative expression comes in the form of jewelry and fabric arts. (I’m planning on learning some paper arts as well, if I ever get the time). But I love words and language so much that I simply can’t refrain from writing poems. They make me happy.
In light of this, it may seem odd that I joined a website called Department of Modern Verse. I have a friend there who invited me. Now he is a Poet, and he’s very good. There are a lot of fine Poets writing there. Maybe if I hang around there long enough Poetness will rub off on me.

Just do what I do wing it! Art is about expression. just call it free form and you are ok! basically , have fun.
