There just isn’t a lot to say about the last eight days. It rained. It didn’t stop raining. Til today.
The sun actually came out yesterday evening while I was working on the computer. I had to go to the front window and see if I was hallucinating, or if that was indeed light I saw casting shadows on the building across the lot. I was so happy to see the bright blue sky peeking through the clouds.
Everything is wet. Beyond wet. It has been dreary and depressing. I usually love rain. I love the way it sounds falling on a quiet street outside my window, and I love the way the air smells during a rainfall. But this was all just too much. I don’t mean to complain though. There are folks around here who’s homes have been swept away or haven’t been able to get to work and school. Whole towns were evacuated. So, while I fought with depression and an ever-present desire to sleep, others have far more serious challenges to face.
Still, everything is so green now. I know the land loves the rain, and it needed a good soaking. I just hope the worst of it is over.
