Green Friday Ramble
Jun 30th, 2006 by lisa
Wow. This has been my second Friday off in a month. Is that anything like a Blue Moon? But this Friday has been anything but blue. It’s been more green. Let’s call it a green Friday.
I messed around today. I also happened to get some stuff done. Funny how that worked out. Instead of stressing about things that needed to be done, I put some happy music on and did them. I danced while reorganizing some business stuff and making the bed. I sang while doing the dishes. I think this is the most fun I’ve on a day off.
I really feel like things are going well. Paul and I are both working at steady, nice jobs and every month we get a little further away from the paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle. We’ve got solid plans to move in a few months (if not sooner) and solid plans for other improvements.
We still don’t have a kitchen set though, but it’s okay ’cause we like eating in the living room while we watch baseball on NESN. Tonight is KFC night - a Friday evening ritual of grease and mashed potatoes to which we always look forward. Add a Sox game and I’m in heaven. Okay, maybe not heaven but a very, very nice place where everyone is happy and there are free foot rubs.
I picked up this book at the library yesterday because the cover is cool. Isn’t that a ridiculous reason to read a book? Still, it’s apparently about Japanese culture or something, which fascinates me, so maybe it’ll be okay. And while a steady diet of Terry Pratchett isn’t neccesarily bad for you, it’s a good idea to add some other nutrients to your literarary diet so you don’t get an imbalance. You really have to watch these things, you know, when you get to be my age. And don’t ask me what that is, ’cause I’m not telling you.
If you can’t tell, I’m suffering from an episode of Extremely Good Mood.
And now for something completely different.

A cat in a box.
