A Day Trip to the White Mountains

Yesterday Paul and I went with our friend Joe to the White Mountains. We took a tram up Cannon Mountain to get a view of the Franconia Range with the Presidential Range in the distance.
We stopped at the viewing area for the Old Man in the Mountain. And though he is no longer is residence, having fallen down a while ago, his house is still just as beautiful as ever. I’m sorry I never got to see him in person.
The trees were so lush and green; no doubt a result of the deluge we have been experiencing these past months. We saw eagles, hawks and red squirrels. The day was a bit hazy, but that only enhanced the beauty of the mountains in the distance viewed from the top of Cannon Mountain.
It was refreshing, beautiful and peaceful. A grand time was had by all.
I love the white mountains. My wife and I try to get up there at least once a year.
