Good Bar-B-Que

Good BBQ is a joyful occassion. The last time I enjoyed a really good BBQ meal out was when Paul and I went to Redbones in Somerville Massachussets years ago. This past weekend Paul and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Famous Dave’s in Manchester. The service was great, the food was even better and we felt welcome and relaxed.
As we approached the entrance we heard a smokin’ blues tune that nicely set the mood for a fun and tasty meal. Our waitress was friendly and very effiecient. I had the Texas Brisket plate and tried the several varieties of BBQ sauce that you will find on the table. They were all very good. I was happy to discover a roll of paper towels on a stand, as there are never enough napkins when you are enjoying BBQ. My lunch included a corn muffin, corn-on-the-cob, cole slaw (heavenly!) and something called Drunkin Apples that I saved for dessert. With a Guinness on tap from the bar I can honestly say this was one of the best lunchtime dining experiences I’ve enjoyed in a while. When the manager heard that this was our first time there, he came over to ask how the meal was and give us a $5.00 off coupon for our next visit. We can’t wait to use it.
