Spring is near. As winters go, this one has been failry mild. Although I realize that it’s not over yet, and we can still get a snowstorm or even a blizzard before it’s through. But I do love buying my first bouquet of spring flowers every year.
I was searching through the refigerated section of the flower store in Stop and Shop and I wasn’t thrilled with what they had to offer. But in the very back section, behind a lot of other tulip bunches was this beautifully bright herald of spring’s imminent arrival. The photo does not do justice to the brilliant shade of red-pink-red that practically glows in the evening light.
This winter has not been bad as far as the weather is concerned, but it’s been pretty dark and cold in my heart lately. Don’t know why, don’t care. I’m just glad to be feeling better. Finding little bits of beauty in my life like these go a long way to lighten my spirit. I will be on the lookout for more every day.
