Such is Life

When you have a cat, you kinda have to develop a keen peripheral vision. You almost need to use your sixth sense, because sometimes they get very close, and very quiet. I am forever turning around and finding Siofra right behind me, and occasionally tripping over her.
When I woke this morning, my sixth sense must have still been sleeping, ’cause I bopped my poor kitty on the nose with my knee. She had jumped on the bed after breakfast like she always does to say good morning, and I moved at the wrong time. I felt awful, but no matter how much I apologized to her, she would not be consoled and jumped off the bed in an indignant huff. Ah, the joys of living with cats. Anyway, we’ve since made up and things are fine now.
Today was a busy day. There isn’t much going on with the cleaning business at the moment, but we’ve been working on a handful of other ideas to generate income. There is always a plan B, and in our case we have plans B through Z. I’m not worried.
Tonight’s menu is chicken baked in barbecue sauce with salad. I’ve been cooking more now that I have the time and the energy to do so. We’ve been shopping at a local farm stand for produce and dairy and the quality of our meals has improved accordingly. We are on track to get healthier so we can have the energy we need to work hard on our various projects.
It rained this afternoon. Not enough to clean everything, but just enough to make the air smell fresh. I think we’ll go for a walk after dinner tonight.
