Stranger Than Fiction

I loved this movie. Will Ferrell can actually act, something I suspected all along. In fact, this movie contains many fine performances, and I loved the story. The ending was satisfying although I don’t think it was the best ending it could have had. But I didn’t hate the ending, it was pulled off very nicely indeed. You’ll know what I mean when (and if) you see it. And you should see it. It’s one of those movies that plays with reality in very clever and entertaining ways.
And bits of it are very, very funny… almost to the point of brilliance.
It takes a dark subject - Mortality - and makes you think about it. No, I mean really Think. It almost takes the sting out of it. It almost makes it make sense. I think the story is infused a bit with the old folktale That’s Good-That’s Bad, but mostly it’s a strong admonishment to live your life to it’s fullest every moment of every day.
Emma. Thompson. Is. Amazing. Just like she always is. She gets better every time I see her in a new movie.
Two of my favorite lines:
“You’re never too old for space camp, dude.”
“I don’t need nicotine patches, I smoke cigarettes.”
So if you’ve been wondering if you want to see it, I can tell you I thought it was very good.

I concur(?) the wife and I saw this movie recently too and it reminded me of when Jim Carrey broke out of his “goofy” roles for the truman show. I hope that made sense I’m still groggy from the Roger Waters show in Irvine last night, didn’t get to bed till after 2 am (!) I think I’m getting too old for this.
Heh. You sound like Danny Glover… I’m gettin’ too old for dis this shit.
yeah huh huh huh I said “old”
