Distracto Grace
Jul 2nd, 2007 by lisa
I didn’t get much accomplished today.
I had a lot planned, but kept getting distracted by things going on outside.
Some barefoot child nearly got run over in the street just outside our building. Traffic (such as it was) was stopped dead while he stood there in shock, screaming his brains out, till his momma finally came running to collect him out of the street.
One of the ladies from the property management company came out to change the locks on the apartment across the hall. That should prove to be interesting this evening when (and if) those neighbors come home from work.
It took an entire family of seven people to change one flat tire on a car that has been sitting at an angle in the parking lot all weekend. Pizza was consumed, beverages quaffed, and children cavorted. At least they were successful.
A gang of blue-jays decided to rumble right outside the bedroom window for about ten minutes. The racket even woke Siofra from her nap under the blankies.
I gave up, made a pot of coffee and decided to watch the world outside. Luckily things calmed down a bit in the afternoon and I was able to finally get some work done.
