Four Books
Jul 27th, 2007 by lisa
The Wall Street Journal’s list of bestselling books for the week ending July 21st, includes four of the Harry Potter books.
- #1 is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
- #8 is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
- #11 is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
- #12 is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Number one is not a surprise, but this is the first time I’ve seen three other books on the bestseller list at the same time. Half-Blood Prince and Order of the Phoenix are the last two books before the finale. People are obviously catching up. But seeing the Sorcerer’s Stone here makes it seem that some are just starting to read the stories. Or maybe they are replacing a worn or lost copy. Now that the series is finished, folks want to have a complete set.
Whatever the case, the books are obviously going to be selling well for some time.

My guess is replacing worn down books. After all, how many times do you think they got read waiting for that last book.
So the rumour, which you probably already know, is that Rowling is going to write a HP encyclopedia. Sounds to me like she’s working on setting up a universe for further books. And why not, really.
