Yesterday we spent the morning in Lowell Massachusetts at Cawley Field. Our good friends Stephan and Ellen have two kids that are in the high school band. The band held an open rehearsal, gave a performance and provided a cookout afterward.
It was really hot and humid, but we had a great time anyway. The band is still working on getting their routines down, but they gave a pretty good performance just the same. When you consider how brutal the weather was that morning, they did a really good job. Afterward, we all headed under the stands for a cookout. Good thing too, ’cause the smell of burgers and hot dogs cooking was making me hungry.
The best part was getting to see our friends. We don’t get to spend nearly as much time with them as we’d like. All of our schedules keep us so busy, so these times we can get together really mean a lot.
You can see more pictures in the photo album.

My niece and nephew were both in band in high school. Oh how they hated band camp. My nephew would always forget to put on sunscreen and would fry him fool self. Were there lots of burnt noses? You were very smart to be wearing a hat and shades.
I enjoyed the pictures and under the stands looked like the perfect place to get out of the heat!
Thanks Lisa!
I forgot my camera that day so I appreciate the pictures!
It was great to see you too, sorry we were busy and didn’t have more time to visit.
