Thanksgiving Day was wonderful. We spent the morning relaxing and then headed over to the home of our good friends the Anstey’s for Thanksgiving dinner. Every year we have been invited enjoy a lovely feast at their house. It’s a wonderful warm home, full of love and joy. It is also the house we were married in and will always be special to me for that reason as well.
After dinner, we all sat around watching football, chatting and laughing in that sleepy sort of stupor that always follows a Thanksgiving feast.
Ellen sent us home with enough turkey and stuffing to keep us in sandwiches for the rest of the weekend.
And as for the rest of this weekend, it promises to be uneventful. And that makes me very happy. Yesterday we did nothing, and today we’ll do nothing except go to the grocery store for provisions. Then it will be pretty much ‘nothing’ except for the Pat’s game tomorrow. Sometimes ‘nothing’ is exactly what you need. I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts.
