Doing and Not Doing
Jan 4th, 2008 by lisa
So what have I been doing lately… besides feeling sorry for myself?
I’ve been watching House M.D. DVDs while eating peanut butter with a spoon.
Also Jaws, which I received for Christmas. One of my favorite movies. Thank you!
Listening to Raising Sand over and over again. It’s a great CD and has become a welcome addiction that has seriously lifted my spirits. (Another Christmas gift. Thank you, honey!)
Have a listen…

Let’s see, what else? Not eating any refined sugar …!!!… which is having a remarkable soothing effect on my nerves. Paul and I do this whenever our diets get out of control. It’s a way of ‘rebooting the system’, as it were. Now if I can just make this a real lifestyle change and eat healthy all the time.
And a bunch of other stuff that involves sitting still and being passive.
What haven’t I been doing? Writing, taking pictures, making anything (except brownies… but no more), going for walks or getting out much at all.
I have to tell you, feeling sorry for yourself is not really a good hobby. I don’t recommend it at all. In fact, I recommend getting up off your butt and doing something else. For instance, cleaning the refrigerator, which I did today. I felt a lot better afterward, and have been eyeing the rest of the house ever since.
And finger painting… or paw painting as the case may be. It can be very therapeutic. Until you get caught, of course…
